In-person lessons around Marylebone
Lessons are one hour and one to one. In person means around Marylebone, London; the exact meeting place is agreed by email once the booking is made, which keeps things simple for both sides and lets the arrangement suit the family rather than a fixed room.
In-person lessons cost £10 more per lesson than the same lesson online. That is the whole of the difference — the teaching, the hour and the note to parents afterwards are identical.

Who would be teaching, and how that is checked
Inviting a tutor to teach your child face to face is a different decision from booking a video call, so this comes near the top rather than the bottom of the page.
Archie Dyer holds an Enhanced DBS check.
He is the founder of Cognivia Tutoring and its only tutor. Nobody else will turn up. There is no agency behind the website and no rota of tutors.
He is a second-year Theoretical Physics student at UCL, after a First in his first year.
He scored 43 out of 45 in the IB, with 7s in HL Maths, Physics and Economics, and 10 A*s at IGCSE.
He has been tutoring for over two years.
The full safeguarding terms that apply to every lesson, in person and online, are set out in the terms of service. If you would rather ask about any of it before booking, call +44 7535 185867 or email cogniviatutoring@gmail.com.
How he teaches. In Archie’s words: “I find where the understanding actually breaks down, which is usually two or three topics further back than where the marks were lost, and we rebuild from there. I keep lessons relaxed. I would far rather a student asked me something they think is obvious than sat quietly and nodded.” The free 30-minute trial is the way to judge that for yourself: bring a topic you find difficult. There is more on the About Archie page.
What parents get
After every lesson, parents receive a short note on what was covered and what to practise next. It takes a minute to read and it means you are not relying on “fine” as a progress report.
Either a parent or the student can make the booking — the booking form asks which — and lesson times are shown in your own time zone.
“Cognivia Tutoring has helped my son drastically improve his grades in Maths. He says the sessions are engaging and very useful.”

The same lessons run online on Google Meet, for £10 less: £45 an hour for IB, A-Level, TMUA and ESAT, or £40 an hour for IGCSE and GCSE.
The Google Meet link arrives in the booking confirmation email, so there is nothing to install. Students join from the UK and across Europe, and the booking calendar shows every time in the visitor’s own time zone.
Each lesson is booked and priced on its own, so a family can take some in person and others online without committing to one or the other.
